The Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings was formed in 1992 to provide an additional performance outlet for young string musicians in the Mansfield, Ohio area and serves as a feeder program for the Mansfield Symphony Youth Orchestra.  This orchestra experience not only complements the musical instruction young people receive in their schools, but also provides a large ensemble experience for students who do not have access to a school orchestra program.  The MSYS is currently comprised of over 50 students, mainly in grades fourth through eighth, and features over 20 schools in Richland and surrounding counties.  Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings at Lexington Eastern Elementary from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.  Two to three concerts are scheduled each year, and auditions for new members are held in early June.  If you would like more information regarding the Mansfield Symphony Youth Strings, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    1. Linda,
No accompanist is needed. The student will simply play their scales, a few minutes of a solo piece and the required audition spots. Thanks, Matt Domka
